What a wonderful day Adult Day Health Care had yesterday going to Newport Aquarium! Brighter Choice Daycare went with us also and brought some clients.

We want to thank the community, families, clients, board members and everyone who donated to us to make this happen! The joy, memories and huge smiles were worth more than we can express! It was a long day. We ate at Steak N Shake and then headed on to our destination in the bad weather and we did get soaked along the way but we didn’t let it stop us! We saw mermaids! Mermaids! 🧜‍♀️

We got back around 8pm last night and we were all worn out but it was a good worn out! Enjoy our pics in two parts because there are so many Facebook won’t allow them all on one post and please see the video in comments! Again, thank you to ALL who helped bring our clients immense joy! ❤️

🐙🐢🪼⭐️ 4 Days Until the Aquarium! ⭐️🪼🐢🐙

The excitement is building at A Gathering Place! Today our participants got creative with some amazing ocean-themed chalk art as we count down to our trip to the Newport Aquarium this week.

From colorful octopuses and sea turtles to jellyfish, starfish, and underwater adventures, our parking lot became an ocean of imagination! 🌊🎨

We can’t wait to see the real sea creatures in just 4 more days. The smiles, laughter, and anticipation are already making this a memorable experience.

There are no words that truly prepare you for saying goodbye to someone who has been such a big part of your life and your family.

For over 10 years, Ben Guerrant poured his heart into A Gathering Place. He wasn’t just our Executive Director—he was our leader, our encourager, our advocate, and our friend. He believed in people, saw potential where others didn’t, and never hesitated to offer support, guidance, or a kind word when it was needed most.

Many of us were blessed to experience firsthand the deep love he had for his wife, his family, our participants, and this community. His presence brought comfort, laughter, strength, and faith to so many lives.

As we share his arrangements, we ask that you keep his family and all who loved him in your prayers. While our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the years we had with him and the countless memories he leaves behind.

To allow our staff and participants the opportunity to honor Ben and attend services, A Gathering Place will be closed on Tuesday, June 9th.

We will miss him more than words can express, but his legacy of kindness, compassion, and service will continue to live on through all of us.

Rest easy, Ben. You were loved beyond measure, and you will never be forgotten. ❤️

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our Executive Director, Ben Guerrant.

For the past 10½ years, Ben faithfully served A Gathering Place with compassion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the people we serve. His leadership helped guide our organization through growth, challenges, and countless moments of joy.

Ben was more than an Executive Director—he was a friend, mentor, advocate, and source of encouragement to participants, families, staff, board members, and our community. He believed in people, saw potential in others, and inspired us to be our best.

His kindness, wisdom, and servant’s heart touched countless lives. Whether he was helping a participant, supporting a family, encouraging a staff member, or working behind the scenes to strengthen our mission, Ben always led with compassion and integrity.

While we are heartbroken by this loss, we are deeply grateful for the 10½ years he devoted to A Gathering Place and for the legacy he leaves behind. His impact will continue to be felt in the lives of those he touched and in the community he helped build.

Please keep Ben’s wife, family, friends, and all who loved him in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

☀️ Warm weather, good friends, and lots of laughter! ☀️

One of the best things about working at A Gathering Place is that many days don’t feel like work at all. Spending time outdoors, sharing smiles, making memories, and enjoying the company of such wonderful people makes every day special.

As the weather warms up, we’re looking forward to even more outdoor fun, fresh air, and opportunities to enjoy the season together!

Thank you so much to A Brighter Choice for the kind invitation and warm hospitality. Our participants and staff truly enjoyed the fellowship, fun, and time spent together honoring Memorial Day. Community connections like these mean so much, and we are grateful for opportunities to come together and make special memories!

🌟 All Abilities Resource Fair – What a Wonderful Day! 🌟

Today, Sarah and I had the opportunity to represent A Gathering Place at the All Abilities Resource Fair at the library, and it was truly such a meaningful experience.

We were so happy to connect with others in our community, share resources, and meet so many wonderful people. Events like this remind us how important it is to come together and support one another.

It was especially special getting to see Lisa and Hannah from Therapy Together. They’ve recently started working with some of our clients and are doing an amazing job! I had the privilege of working with both of them in long-term care in the past, and it means so much to be working alongside them again. 💙

Building relationships, supporting our community, and helping connect people with the care and resources they need truly warms my heart.
