Danville Families!
The Danville Business Alliance would like you to check out this exciting event for local kiddos happening on Sunday, May 3, 2026, in downtown Danville from 2PM - 4PM. Kiddos ages 10 and under are invited to bike from the Montour County Courthouse to Canal Park on Mill Street, culminating in a celebration with all our local Fire Companies, a Touch-A-Truck event, Geisinger Trauma Department, and our local sheriff and police departments.
Participants are encouraged to decorate their bikes and dress in patriotic costumes as they ride down Mill Street in a colorful display of creativity and community spirit escorted by the Hammers! The parade portion of the event is open to the first 100 registered children, with a $5 registration fee, the first 50 can receive a bike helmet!
Advance online registration is required, and all participants must check in on the day of the event and sign a release form. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, the parade is limited to non-motorized, wheeled or push bikes, including scooters. Helmets are required for all riders.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to assist younger participants, and children age 6 and under must be accompanied by a guardian. Accommodations will also be available for children with special needs.
All participating children will receive patriotic ribbons and stickers in recognition of their involvement in this milestone celebration.
In addition to the parade, participants can look forward to a variety of activities in Canal Park, including a Touch-A-Truck event with our local fire companies, EMS services and our local sheriff and police departments. There will also be live music from Lisa Itts, safety checks for bikes and scooters with the Hammers, and Geisinger Trauma Services. Local fire fighters will be on hand with fire safety information as we enter spring and summer and we’re all enjoying the nicer weather.
