Can you create a human timeline?! These DMS Trojans were up to the challenge in Mrs. Hilliker's 7th grade World History & Geography classes. The students were provided BC and AD dates and had to line up chronologically without speaking. At DMS, if you miss a day, you miss a lot!

These Trojans were "Too Cool To Miss School" in August. In addition to celebrating our students' individual attendance (see the Top Attendance Post for August!), we also celebrated the 1st-period classes with the Top Attendance this month with an ice cream/popsicle celebration. Congratulations to Ms. Holt's, Mrs. Richardson's, and Mrs. Powell's Classes for winning the Top Attendance Classroom Challenge this month. The September Challenge begins tomorrow! Attendance is a big deal at DMS, and today we celebrated a strong start to the school year with 368 DMS Trojans receiving the Top Attendance Award for August 2026. This month, all 368 also received a voucher for a treat or snack from a local restaurant. The September Challenge begins tomorrow!

TEACHERS APPLY TODAY! Baldwin EMC is excited to offer the Operation Round Up Star Light Award, an educational grant program designed to support teachers with innovative and creative classroom lessons or projects that enhance student learning.

Pre-K–12 teachers at accredited public and private schools within the Baldwin EMC service area are eligible to apply. Your school does not have to receive electricity from Baldwin EMC to participate.

The application is attached to this email. Please note:

Applications must be typed and completed in full.
Requested documentation must be included.
Handwritten or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Application deadline: September 18, 2026.
