Sharing the highlights regarding a recent update from Baldwin Co. about the new school zoning.
Dear Daphne Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to share that Shane Corley has been named the new principal of W.J. Carroll Middle School. Please join us in welcoming him to this important leadership role as we prepare for the opening of our newest middle school campus.
As you may know, the new Jubilee Elementary School is scheduled to open in August, serving students in grades K-6. As part of this transition, W.J. Carroll will undergo construction to convert the campus from an elementary school into a middle school.
We currently anticipate that W.J. Carroll Middle School will open sometime between October-December. Until that time, students designated to attend W.J. Carroll Middle School will begin the school year at Daphne Middle School. Once construction is complete and W.J. Carroll Middle School opens, students who are zoned for that campus will transition to the new school.
To help families better understand school assignments, we are providing zoning resources below:
Transitions like this can bring questions, and we are here to support you every step of the way. If you are unsure which school your child is zoned to attend or need additional clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Athletics Information:
W.J. Carroll Middle School will offer the same athletic programs currently available at Daphne Middle School beginning in the 2027β2028 school year. During the 2026β2027 transition year, all student-athletes from both W.J. Carroll and Daphne Middle will compete together as one program based at Daphne Middle School. This transition period will allow Mr. Corley and the W.J. Carroll coaching staff time to build their programs and prepare for the future, including selecting new team uniforms.
We appreciate your patience and partnership as we work to provide the best possible learning environments for our students. We look forward to an exciting year ahead and the opening of W.J. Carroll Middle School.
Sincerely,
Marty McRae
Interim Superintendent
