The Darby Borough Police Department would like to congratulate Gary on his new position!! Gary has always been a good friend to the police department. We look forward to working with him in his new position.

The Delaware County Department of Emergency Services is proud to announce the appointment of Gary Vinnacombe as its new Director.

With more than 20 years of experience in public safety, Gary has built a distinguished career focused on strengthening emergency response systems, collaborative partnerships and supporting the delivery of high quality emergency services to the community.

Gary served as Deputy Chief of Emergency Medical Services at Union Fire Company #1 in Oxford, Pennsylvania, where he oversaw both the administrative and operational functions of the EMS division. Earlier in his career, Gary spent more than a decade as Deputy Chief of EMS at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, where he managed day-to-day EMS operations.

In addition to his operational leadership, Gary is actively involved in statewide EMS initiatives. He serves on the Board of the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council and has held numerous leadership roles within the Chester County EMS Council.

Gary holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Fire and Emergency Services from Anna Maria College, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Emergency and Disaster Management from American Military University.
