Students have been reading as part of the Accelerated Reader program all year at DMS. Students accumulate points with every book that they read and test on.

This year, we had some all-star readers. As a reward for their hard work and dedication, the top 10 point earners received a reward that included a shopping trip to Books-A--Million and lunch at Hideaway Pizza. They even stopped off for some Andy's on the way home. It was a great day to celebrate a tremendous accomplishment and some really amazing students. Great job!

A special thank you to Maverick Dunn and Dardanelle Tire and Auto for the generous donation to help make this trip a reality. We appreciate your support.

On Tuesday, our 8th-grade science students continued their First Aid Unit with a special guest speaker, Tim Tanner from St. Mary’s. He provided hands-on training in life-saving techniques, including how to properly apply tourniquets and pack wounds to control severe bleeding.

Students were fully engaged and did an excellent job practicing these important skills. We are grateful to Tim Tanner for sharing his time and expertise with our students!

This Teacher Appreciation Week, we joined in on a trend that turned into something really special. 💙

Students were given pre-filled strips of paper that said “Bring this to the teacher who…” and set off to surprise the staff members who fit each description. What followed were moments full of laughter, gratitude, and a few happy tears.

From “makes learning fun” to “always believes in me,” our teachers were reminded just how much they mean to our students each and every day.

Take a look at some of the smiles, surprises, and heartfelt connections that make our school such a special place. 🍎✨
