The City of Darien is proud to announce that we have received ONE MILLION DOLLARS in federal grant funding through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), made possible with the support of Congressman Earl L. “Buddy” Carter and his team. 🎉

This investment will support critical improvements to the City’s wastewater treatment plant, helping ensure our infrastructure can meet growing demand while continuing to protect public health and the environment.

The City of Darien extends sincere gratitude to Congressman Buddy Carter and his staff for their continued advocacy for coastal Georgia communities. Their partnership is vital in helping small cities like Darien secure the resources needed to grow and thrive.

We are also grateful for our Mayor and City Council for their leadership, along with our dedicated city staff whose hard work made this opportunity possible.

This funding represents a major step forward for Darien’s infrastructure and future growth—we look forward to putting it to work for our community!

There's a definite change in our century plant now - the leaves are starting to yellow and curl and the lower stalk flowers are shriveling and dying off as well.
