Some people grow up on the water. But Christopher Ruff grew up with it in his bones—and in his heart.
His story begins on Jekyll Island, where his family moved when he was just six months old, from New York. His dad ran a handyman business and helped shape the island’s small-town spirit—but it was his mom who truly shaped Christopher’s love for the outdoors.
🎣 “She didn’t fish—but she loved that I did.” When he was just a little boy, his mom would pack up a lawn chair, a good book, and take him out to the golf course pond. She’d find a shady spot while he tossed a line, always close enough to cheer him on. Those quiet afternoons—just a boy, a bobber, and his biggest fan—are still some of his most cherished memories. That spirit of connection, of slowing down to enjoy the water and each other, is at the heart of every trip he offers today.
⛵ From the National Park Service to the Georgia Coast
Christopher built a 25-year career in land management with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the National Park Service. His work took him from Miami to Las Vegas… but he never lost sight of home. When the time came to settle down, he knew exactly where to go: McIntosh County.

He bought the historic Holland property, passed to him not through a listing, but through trust. The owners said, “We don’t just want to sell the property—we want to sell it to you.” With his brother's help, they lovingly renovated the home, and soon after, Ruff’s Custom Coastal Adventures was born.
