Darien Public Library Thank you for your interest in our library. In 2003 the library built a new building totaling 6,000 sq.ft. and significantly increased its collection.

The Darien Public Library provides a multitude of wonderful materials and services to the Village of Darien and its surrounding communities. If you’re looking for items to check out, our material collection includes books, audio books, magazines, music cds, movies in DVD format, All can be rented at no cost with your free Darien library card or with a card from most surrounding area libraries. The

Library offers free computer classes, storytimes for preschool children, and various other events and programs throughout the year. Loan Periods:
Books, audiobooks: 3 weeks
New arrival books: 2 weeks
Magazines, DVDs, music CDs: 1 week

Library Services
Darien Public Library is a member of the Shared Holding And Resource Exchange (“SHARE”) Consortium linking Walworth, Rock, Racine, and Kenosha Counties in Wisconsin. This enables access to over 850,000 titles to choose from! Free Internet and Wi-Fi access

Join the 2026 Summer Fun at the Darien Library!

Registration for our Summer Reading Program will begin on Monday, June 8th, 2026.

The Rules are simple. Kids read whatever they want, and keep track of their hours. For every hour they read, they enter their names in drawings for great prizes

There will be a ice cream celebration for all summer reading
participants and their families on July 28th at 2:00 p.m.

The Awards Program is Thursday, August 6th at 1:30 P.M.
