Duke Energy is hosting a community event to highlight their Neighborhood Energy Saver program on Thursday, August 27th from 4-7 pm at New Jerusalem Church located at 606 First Street, Darlington. The program includes a no-cost energy assessment and professional installation of up to 17 FREE energy-saving products. The event is free, a meal is provided while supplies last. Owners and renters are eligible for the program.
If you cannot attend the event, a QR code is included in the attached flyer.

Trash Collection Update

Thank you, residents, for your patience and understanding!

We anticipate the final repairs to our trash truck will be completed this afternoon. Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26, our staff will begin picking up all missed trash from Friday afternoon, Monday, and Tuesday.

Because of the volume of trash that has accumulated, it may take several days to fully catch up. Please leave your can out.

Regularly scheduled trash service will continue on Thursday and Friday as usual.

We are so grateful for our dedicated staff, who are willing to work on Saturday if needed to help get everyone caught up. ❤️

"One idea I've brought back to my community from the recent training is that the Small Business Administration (SBA) can be useful to our downtown's small businesses. Among the many services offered, an SBA agent can help a business owner look realistically at the financial information of their operation and the business' viability. This is at no charge. As suggested to us at the conference, I plan to identify and meet the SBA agent assigned to our community and then spread the word to our business owners."

We have learned that the sanitation truck broke down halfway through Friday’s pickup route.

𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗞𝗨𝗣 𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 — 𝗜𝗙 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗛 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗗, 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗦 𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗔𝗦 𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗟.
