NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTION OF
CITY OF DARLINGTON COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, 2023 - 2033
CITY OF DARLINGTON, LAFAYETTE COUNTY, WISCONSIN

Please take notice that a Public Hearing and Consideration of recommendation for the City of Darlington Comprehensive Plan, 2023-2033 will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 beginning at 6:00 pm at the Council Room at the Darlington Municipal Building.

The proposed Comprehensive Plan is an update to the City of Darlington’s comprehensive plan adopted January 18th, 2005. Updates include changes to all required sections of the plan including the Future Land Use Map. A public survey, series of public hearings, and steering committee informed the creation of the Comprehensive Plan 2023-2033.

*Copies of the DRAFT Darlington Comprehensive Plan, 2023-2033 are available for review at the City Offices, 627 Main Street, Darlington WI 53530 and at the Darlington Library, located at Johnson Public Library, 131 E. Catherine Street, Darlington, WI 53586.
*The Comprehensive Plan is also available on the City of Darlington’s website at www.darlingtonwi.org.
*The Darlington Planning Commission invites the public to speak on the proposed Comprehensive Plan at the Public Hearing. Written comments may be submitted prior to, or at the public hearing. Any questions, written comments, or requests for a copy of the proposed update should be directed to the City Clerk, Phil Risseeuw, 608-776-4972 or [email protected]. *Written comments will be given the same weight as oral testimony and be part of the public record.
*Written comments need to be received by Noon on January 2nd, 2023.
*The Darlington Plan Commission will review the comments received following the public hearing and may take action to recommend adoption of the plan by the Darlington City Council, with or without changes to the draft.

Urging community members to review this data and also ask why our council voted 4-2 to not accept the Parks & Rec Committee's recommendation to hire a youth yoga & programming person for a trial, one hour a week position that would promote health and well-being for younger students.

The Southwest Wisconsin Library System is hosting a survey for Spanish language readers! 📚 📖 📙 📘 🎒

If you're willing, please share this survey with your network about a NEW Spanish language collection from our public libraries. Folks could win a $50 Visa gift card if they participate by December 6th, 2022!
