Support Conowingo Dam Conowingo Dam provides clean energy, environmental benefits, recreation & economic development for the region

For more than 80 years, the Conowingo Dam has been a source of clean, reliable energy for millions of residents and businesses in the region. The Conowingo Dam also creates good paying jobs, boosts the economy, generates millions of dollars in annual state and local tax revenue and provides recreational opportunities for thousands of residents each year. Now, the federal government needs to renew

the dam’s license to operate. Local residents can support this important community asset so we can continue to enjoy its benefits for decades to come. Support Conowingo Dam is supported by the dam’s owner, Exelon Corporation.

As the operator of Conowingo Dam, Constellation is committed to being a responsible environmental steward of our many recreational sites and we care about the health and safety of our visitors. Black vulture carcasses were recently collected near the entrance of Fishermen’s Park and are being tested for avian influenza (HPAI). While Fisherman’s Park at the Conowingo Dam remains open, we have temporarily closed the Wildflower trailhead and the Mason Dixon trail between the Overlook parking area and Fisherman’s Park. We will provide future updates when available. Remember, never touch dead or sick-looking birds, and avoid contact with bird droppings.
