The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center, and Darlington County E911 are experiencing issues with phone lines. The office numbers 843-398-4501, 843-398-4220, and the non emergency line 843-398-4920 are currently offline.

Subject: SCAM ALERT

Sheriff August would like to release the following information.

The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a potential scam involving payment for the release of inmates from the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.

The individual will call a family member of a currently housed inmate and request payment to have the inmate released from jail. The individual portrays themselves as a Lieutenant or Sergeant with the sheriffs office and requests cashapp payments in order to have the inmate released from jail. The cash app handle used in this case was $pretrialbondingis.

This is a SCAM. Please be on high alert when anyone calls asking for money over the phone or through an electronic payment involving Law Enforcement. We will NEVER ask for payment over the phone. You can always call the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office to verify if requests are legitimate.

⭐️Office Closure⭐️

The W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center Administrative Office and Lobby will be closed on April 3, 2026, in observance of Good Friday.

Our lobby will reopen on Saturday and Sunday for normal visiting hours from 8-5pm.

Our administrative office will reopen on Monday, April 6, at 8:30am.
