This storm, remember that PennDOT’s operators have a lot of ground to cover!

The average plow route is 40 miles long. Our priority is interstates and expressways so we may move trucks from lower-traffic roads to assist on higher-traffic roads.

Depending on the mix of precipitation, speed, and traffic, a plow truck should reach the same point on its route every few hours under ideal conditions — with lower-traffic roads seeing longer cycle times.

Postpone travel if you can and check road conditions at 511pa.com if you must head out in wintry weather.
