Hello UMassD!!

SGA has open Senator positions and open Student Body Representative positions. If you would like to run for any Senator position, the candidate must be a representative of that community (ie. Must be a commuter to run for a Commuter Senator seat). Anyone can run for a Student Body Representative position as long as they’re a UMassD Undergrad student!

Steps to run for a position:

1. Contact the SGA President with your interest! [email protected]

2. Announce your candidacy at an SGA General Body Meeting (GBM) every Monday in Library 206

3. At the following GBM, an Internal Election will take place.

Internal Election process:

- You will be able to give a 2 min speech on why you’d like to run for said position

- 3 people present will have the opportunity to speak on your behalf (can be SGA members or anyone you ask to come)

- You will be asked 3 questions related to the position

- Election vote will take place

Somehow, October managed to be both the longest and fastest month of the semester with midterms, cold mornings, and that four-day Halloween break we’re all still recovering from 🍁😅😏
Through it all, our October NOMINEES showed real dedication. They were kind, reliable, and the steady energy this campus needed when everything else felt a little overwhelming.
Join us in recognizing them! 💙💛

We’re so proud to share our September Standout WINNERS! A group of people who helped shape our community in quiet, consistent, and meaningful ways 🍂💙
Each winner brought heart to their work, whether it was supporting others, leading with patience, showing up when it mattered, or making someone’s day a little easier without expecting anything in return. These are the moments that make our campus feel like a community, and these standouts truly carried that spirit.
Thank you to each of our September standouts for the care, commitment, and compassion you brought to campus. Your impact reaches further than you know.💛✨

Last week, members of our 50th Senate headed to Boston for the American Student Government Association (ASGA) Conference! 🇺🇸📚 Led by our SGA President, Cassy De Pina ( ), our delegation included Senator Brianna (.05 ) from the Honors College, Senator Paula (.da_bxdy ) from the College of Nursing & Health Sciences, and Student Body Representative Daniyal. Together, they connected with student leaders from across the country, gathered fresh ideas, and gained inspiration to make UMass Dartmouth’s SGA stronger than ever. Thank you for hosting such an incredible event—we’re excited to put what we’ve learned into action!
