🇺🇸 Mark your calendars for July 3rd at Dateland School as we celebrate America's 250th birthday! This year's program honors Mr. Robert "Bob" Sloncen, a true pillar of our community. 🌟

What started as a one-year adventure for Bob and his wife, Jill, became a lifetime of service and dedication. Over 50 years, Bob became the face of East Yuma County, earning recognition in the Arizona Rural Schools Hall of Fame and Yuma County Education Foundation Hall of Fame. His distinguished military service as a Commanding Two Star Admiral in the United States Coast Guard Reserve speaks volumes about his character and commitment. ⚓

But beyond the accolades, Bob's greatest titles are the ones closest to his heart—Husband, Son, Brother, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, and cherished Friend to countless people. His legacy is woven through the lives he's touched and the community he's helped build. 💙

Join us in celebrating Mr. Sloncen and the remarkable life he's lived in service to so many. We can't wait to see you there!

Our school is proud to have two students already engaged in earning community service hours. As part of our promotion requirements, our 5th-8th graders must complete community service hours. This is a long-standing tradition that we take great pride in. We are grateful for the support of our community and strive to give back through community service. 🐾

Our Jr. High participated in a week long exploration camp sponsored by STEDY - Yuma County CTED. Many memories were made and friendships developed.

Our junior high students recently attended a career exploration camp, engaging in hands-on activities in engineering, law and public safety, cosmetology, biomedical technology, digital animation, sports medicine and agricultural nutrition. They developed new relationships and had a blast. We are grateful to Mrs. Correa for her role in this experience and to the sponsors who enabled this opportunity for all students in Yuma County. 🐾
