Today, Datil Fire/EMS took possession of our type 1 ambulance. We have been waiting for this for about a year. Covid money that became available was allocated last year with the remaining balance coming from LATCF funding.
Now with 4wheel drive capabilities , we are better suited to respond to our more remote residences in most cases.
However, we will not be able to transition for another 2 weeks.

When fire happens, it never happens in perfect conditions and this is why we train in bad weather, in the dark, and cold temperatures. We also train and inspect our equipment to make sure it is in perfect working conditions. We find something faulty we immediately fix the problem.

Datil Volunteer Fire/EMS at work for our community. When we receive a 911 call we make a determination as to what level of care their condition requires. The patient needed to be flown to alb. Unfortunately due to one person complaining we have had to move our landing zone 5 miles from town and inconvenience travelers on Highway 60 by closing the road down. Please be patient with us when we do close highway 60 down. That could be your loved one.

Trick-or-Treat! Datil Fire Station will be open for trick-or-treaters on Friday, October 29th from 4pm-7pm. If community members would like to set up with us, you are welcome to join! Let's make sure the kids have something to look forward to!
