When an emergency happens, every second matters, but taking a moment to answer the dispatcher’s questions can help first responders prepare before they arrive.

Stay as calm as possible, listen carefully and follow any instructions you are given. Do not hang up until the dispatcher tells you it is okay. Their questions are not slowing down help. They are helping make sure the right response is on the way.
