🚁 🚑 Ready to take your EMS career to the next level? Alabama Fire College's Critical Care Academy, offered in partnership with Impact EMS Training, is a 100-hour hybrid program designed to prepare paramedics and nurses for FP-C and CCP certification. Most coursework can be completed online from home or the station, making it ideal for busy professionals.

As temperatures rise across Alabama, encounters with native wildlife become much more frequent—including encounters with venomous snakes. 🐍 For first responders, animal control officers, and outdoor professionals, knowing how to safely handle these situations is a critical safety skill.

To meet this need, Alabama Extension is hosting specialized Venomous Snake Safety and Handling Trainings throughout the month of June. Led by wildlife experts, these sessions provide essential, hands-on instruction to help public safety personnel minimize risk and protect both themselves and the community.

Key features of the training include:

Identification & Behavior: Learn to accurately identify Alabama's native venomous species and understand their typical behavioral patterns. 🔍

Safe Handling & Tools: Master the proper use of professional handling equipment, including snake tongs and hooks, through controlled, practical exercises.

First Aid Protocol: Get up-to-date, science-backed guidance on emergency protocols and proper first aid response for venomous snakebites. 🏥

Dauphin Island Fire Rescue would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the generous donor who recently provided several pieces of much-needed emergency response equipment to our department.
