This time of year sees an increase in home fires. It is essential for families to practice "Exit Drills In The Homeโ€ or E.D.I.T.H. in case of an emergency.

Everyone should know where to go in an emergency. Here are some tips to help ensure your family remains safe. Give it a try this weekend. ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ”ธ Have a smoke alarm for the drill and ensure it operates properly (working smoke alarms provide early notification of smoke and fire)
๐Ÿ”ธ Discuss the direct route to escape along with an alternative route
๐Ÿ”ธ Practice alerting all in the home that an emergency exists and there is a need to leave
๐Ÿ”ธ Designate a meeting place once everyone is out of the home
๐Ÿ”ธ Discuss calling 911 from a safe location

The Jefferson Jets were soaring high yesterday after a large donation of school supplies from Walmart! ๐Ÿ“š

This generous donation provides more materials and supplies for our teachers and students to be successful in the classroom. Plus, the supplies were delivered by a former Jefferson student - how cool is that?! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Thank you, Walmart, for your support and donation!

Walcott Panthers student, Rachel Ehlers age 12, collected and sewed 150 bags for area food pantries!

Rachel is the daughter of pig farmers Brian and Angie Ehlers of Walcott and saw the need for the bags that will hold pre-packed food. Rachel is a great example of our DCSD students who see a need in their community, and find a way to help!

We are proud of you, Rachel!
