🚗✨ Did that car just roll uphill?! ✨🚗

Our Daily Discovery participants recently set out on an adventure to visit the famous Gravity Hill—and let's just say, it left everyone scratching their heads and laughing!

For those who have never visited, Gravity Hill is known for its optical illusion that makes it appear as though vehicles can roll uphill on their own. Is it gravity? Is it magic? Is it science? We'll let you decide! 😉

More importantly, the day was filled with curiosity, conversation, friendship, and fun. Outings like these provide opportunities to explore new places, experience local attractions, build social connections, and create lasting memories together.

At Empowering Abilities, we believe some of life's best learning happens outside the classroom—and this adventure certainly gave everyone something to talk about on the ride home!

💙🥫 Making a Difference Together 🥫💙

Thank you to everyone who donated to the QC Disabilities Awareness Coalition's Martin Luther King Jr. Food Drive! Because of your generosity, local families facing food insecurity will receive much-needed support through The Salvation Army of Davenport, Iowa.

A special thank you goes to our Daily Discovery Community Group participants, who volunteered their time to help collect, transport, and deliver donations of 237 items to the food pantry. Their hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to helping others made this effort possible.

Opportunities like these are about so much more than delivering food. They allow individuals with disabilities to give back to their community, build confidence, develop workplace and volunteer skills, strengthen social connections, and experience the pride that comes from helping others.

Community inclusion isn't just about being part of the community—it's about making meaningful contributions to it.

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make this effort a success. Together, we're creating opportunities, changing lives, and strengthening our community.

🚂 All Aboard! 🚂

When a BIG adventure recently rolled into Grand Mound, Iowa, participants from Empowering Abilities Daily Discovery made the road trip to witness history in motion as 🚂 Big Boy No 4014 Union Pacific Railroad made a stop on its coast-to-coast tour.

Known as the world's largest operating steam locomotive, Big Boy #4014 arrived on June 2, 2026, decked out in special America's 250th Celebration attire, making the experience even more memorable.

The excitement was impossible to miss! From the whistle echoing through town to the sight of the massive locomotive rolling into view, our participants enjoyed a day filled with adventure, exploration, and plenty of smiles. While it was loud and crowded, everyone agreed it was well worth the trip.

Experiences like this help create opportunities for learning, connection, and fun while making memories that last a lifetime.
