LAST CHANCE to join the Davenport City-wide Yard Sale map for Saturday, May 30! We already have 15 confirmed locations and have put new banners out on the highway.

🌟 DHS FBLA State Highlight 🌟
Nevaeh Farrens competed in Visual Design at State as well as Public Service Announcement with Jordyn Stein. She advanced to the final round in Visual Design and placed 7th in the State! In FBLA, competitors are only allowed to compete at the National level in one event — so if they place in more than one, they have to drop some. In addition, some competitors may have schedule conflicts, etc. that lead to them dropping their event as well. In these cases, we BUMP UP. Yesterday, we found out that Nevaeh has been BUMPED UP to compete at Nationals in Visual Design! In my 15+ years advising, there have been many times I’ve had a student bump up and make it onto stage at Nationals! We’re so excited to add Nevaeh to our Nationals team this year!

We officially have 12 Davenport HS Competitors headed to Nationals this year! We would love your support to help send this competitors to San Antonio to represent us and hopefully get on stage for a second year in a row! We have Butter Braids, Work for Hire, and the Community Yard Sale coming up on May 30! Order Butter Braids online by tomorrow, May 4 at www.tinyurl.com/DHS26SpringBB and we’ll deliver around May 20!

🌟 DHS FBLA State Highlight 🌟
Fiona Strozyk placed in the Top 10 in the State in all three of her competitive events! It was a nail biting experience at the awards ceremony where her events were called back to back. First, the team of Everett Prewitt, Fiona Strozyk, and Paige Van Buren, placed 10th in the State in Introduction to Business Presentation with their insights into how businesses should be leveraging AI properly. Then, Fiona looped back around stage and placed 6th in Introduction to Public Speaking. With Nationals just out of reach (top 4 placing to go), she looped back around the stage to go up again. Then her team of Ruby Miranda, Fiona Strozyk, and Paige Van Buren secured a spot to Nationals, placing 4th with their Introduction to Social Media Strategy for thewellnesswave2026 supporting teen mental health (the prompt for this year). We can’t wait to see what these ladies accomplish at Nationals!

🌟 DHS FBLA State Highlight 🌟
Two teams competed in Data Analysis this year to analyze Olympic Athlete Historical Data to determine recommendations they could make to Olympic Organizers and Teams for LA28. Both teams made it to the final round and up on stage. McCall Knopp, McGuire Knopp, and Bennett Wagner placed 8th in the State. Malachi Hoff placed 3rd in the State, advancing to Nationals to compete for the second year in row. At Nationals, McGuire will be joining Malachi to make a new team and hopefully place in the top 10 in the Nation! On to Nationals!

🌟 DHS FBLA State Highlight 🌟
Beau Copenhaver competed in three separate events at State including Impromptu Speaking, Job Interview, and Financial Planning. These three events proved to be some of the most competitive events in our state this year. Beau placed 4th in the State in Job Interview, moving forward to the National Conference for the second year in a row. He was also named Outstanding Member of the Year for Davenport’s Chapter for his dedication to helping our chapter grow and always being there for our members. On to Nationals!

🌟 DHS FBLA State Highlight 🌟
Our very own Clare Lathrop competed in Career Portfolio and placed 7th in the State! She shared about her journey in life to discover her path towards pediatric dentistry and how she’s worked hard to set herself up for success in this career. She included how her Job Shadow Culminating Project was a key point in her path in determining her choice for pediatric dentistry and her successes in Basketball and signing with NNU to support her future. This is a highly competitive event and is a great opportunity for students to showcase their dedication and hard work towards their futures. Great work Clare!
