On August 19, 2026, David City Police received information from a David City Golf Board Member regarding stolen golf equipment from the Par IV Golf Course that was being resold at a store in Lincoln.
They were able to identify specific clubs that they knew were stolen from Par IV. Chief Schnell reached out to the store to obtain the identity of the individual who brought in the items. It is difficult to trace stolen items due to the large number of stores that buy and resell them.
Once this information was acquired, the David City Police contacted that individual, who then consented to a search of their residence.
During the search, numerous stolen items were discovered, all of which had been reported missing throughout the year. The items were seized, and due to their large quantity, it took several days for the rightful owners to come and identify them.
This investigation resolved approximately ten theft cases from this year, with most of the stolen items recovered.
The David City Police would like to express their gratitude to the David City Golf Board Member, who alerted Chief Schnell about seeing the stolen golf items at a store in Lincoln for resale.
Without this valuable tip, these thefts may have remained unsolved.
This individual was arrested on an outstanding warrant, burglary, and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
