PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Black Hills Energy Making System Upgrades in David City

David City, Neb., July 23, 2026 - You and your family need and deserve safe, reliable natural gas service, and Black Hills Energy is always looking ahead to make sure we deliver. Thatโ€™s why weโ€™re proactively updating our system in David City.

Beginning soon, Black Hills Energy is performing an upgrade as part of a phased construction project that consists of replacing bare steel pipes with high density polyethylene, which is more resistant to corrosion and is adaptable to the changing needs of the David City community.

For the next several months, we expect to complete construction throughout David City. Michels Corporation will assist Black Hills Energy with this project. All contractors will carry Black Hills Energy identification and are trained to meet our high quality and service standards.

Besides construction work in the area, if you are a natural gas customer, service might be interrupted for a minimal amount of time, typically four hours or less. Should work on your meter need to be performed during construction, Black Hills Energy or a contractor will contact you to schedule an appointment.
We understand construction can impact your life and business, which is why weโ€™re carefully planning our work and weโ€™re committed to keeping you informed. As we near the end of our work, every effort will be made to restore the work area to its original state.

Black Hills Energy is committed to investing in our infrastructure to meet our goal of reducing methane emissions. Replacing the bare steel natural gas main with new polyethylene piping plays an important role in helping to achieve that goal. We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we deliver an advanced, modern gas system that will safely and reliably serve you and generations of customers to come.

Upgrades are currently scheduled to begin on July 28, and the project should be completed by November. For additional information, visit blackhillsenergy.com/SafeNebraska.
