We are overwhelmed today with feelings of sadness, confusion, and rage. We are sad because we know the grave effect that these messages have on students of the Jewish faith, students of color, and LGBTQ+ students. We stand alongside these students and the whole Davidson community and offer our unbridled support. We are confused because it seems impossible for a Davidson student or any human being to be filled with such hate. We are enraged because we know this person is not Davidson. These views have absolutely no place on this campus.
Every member of YAF fully and utterly condemns these grotesque messages of Na**sm, bigotry, and hate. Yet, we acknowledge that these views are a part of a growing, malignant cancer on the right. We want to work diligently to be part of the solution in removing this cancer from Davidson and the broader political landscape. We are committed to working with and talking to other students and student groups to create systems of support and spaces for conversation so that we can find a path forward from this grim day.
