Happy International Firefighter's Day from the Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire Protection District.

We would like to give a shoutout to all the firefighters out there - especially our volunteers who drop everything when the pager goes off.

We would also like to take this day and remember those firefighters who gave their lives in the line of duty. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Don't forget to come out and show your support at our annual fish fry, Friday June 5th 2026!

LSR would like to thank Cherry Valley Fire department, Monroe Township Fire and Ambulance Protection District, Stillman Fire Protection District, Rochelle Fire Department, Ogle-Lee Fire Protection District, Kirkland Fire Department, Byron Fire Protection District, and Oregon Fire Protection District for their mutual aid this Easter afternoon, for a fully engulfed garage fire. The fire was put out, successfully, with no injuries.

LSR responded to a car versus semi on I-39. There were no injuries and refusals were signed.

Saturday was a busy night with both ambulances transporting to Swedes from separate calls. Thanks to the volunteers for their dedication and commitment to helping the community.

Austin Carr, President of Greenlink Energy Solutions, Inc. in Rockford was our guest speaker at our Monday training. Austin spoke extensively about the risks and dangers of solar energy as it relates to a residential or commercial building fire. Solar is an inherently safe means to generate electricity and yields virtually zero fire risk. However, if the structure were to be compromised by fire, first responders should be aware of the dangers energized systems pose. Austin and his team even went above and beyond by providing the district with a suggested Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) as it relates to Solar Photovoltaic and Battery Energy Storage System Safety. We thank Austin for his time and appreciate Greenlink for being a valued partner in our community.

Lynn-Scott-Rock would like to thank Monroe Township Fire and Ambulance Protection District for assistance with a medical call and Stillman Fire Protection District for assistance with an auto accident, as we responded to multiple calls in a short time period today.

The Lynn-Scott-Rock FPD would like to thank the quick response from our mutual aid neighbors Stillman Fire Protection District Monroe Township Fire and Ambulance Protection District and Ogle -Lee for the structure fire this afternoon. The quick response kept the fire to the exterior of the home with very little damage inside.
