We were born out of the Davis Volunteer Fire Dept in the early 1980’s and were chartered as Canaan Valley VFD,Inc in October of 1985. Our first due is big and wild, with weather that can be a hindrance at times. Our station is at 3210 feet above sea level and our response area can rise to 4400 feet in the peaks around us. With three major ski resorts, the Monongahela National Forest and the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge in our footprint, we have a huge tourism influx most weekends of the year.
