It was a pleasure speaking with all the attendees at the City of Woodland's Senior Resource Fair last Friday! We were there educating residents on the Air Quality Index, Spare the Air season, the importance of air purifiers for wildfire smoke events and our upcoming Fresh Air For All - Home Air Filtration Program, which distributes FREE air purifiers to residents. Applications for that program open on June 15!

Creating a "clean air space" at home is one of the best ways to reduce smoke exposure and protect your health during smoke events. Stay inside, close widows and doors, and run an air purifier if you have one to help keep indoor air cleaner.

Air pollution can worsen asthma and other respiratory conditions, but the impacts are not experienced equally. Communities facing higher levels of pollution often see higher asthma rates and greater health risks.

Knowing when air quality is unhealthy can help you take steps to reduce exposure and breathe easier. Check the air quality like you check the weather! Visit https://www.airnow.gov to get current air quality information.

Did you know summer heat and vehicle emissions can increase ground-level ozone (smog)? Spare The Air season begins today, May 1, and there are simple ways everyone can help reduce pollution. ☀️⬇️

Spare The Air starts TODAY! 🎉

From now through October, the air districts of the Sacramento region are teaming up to help everyone Breathe Better Together. Warmer weather, sunshine, and summer travel can increase ground-level ozone (smog), one of our region’s biggest air quality challenges.

It’s easy to help !
🚗 Skip a trip
🤝 Carpool or combine errands
🏡 Telework when you can
🚌 Take public transit

Small choices add up, and together make cleaner air for everyone. 💙 Link in comments. ⬇️
