UC Davis Policy Institute UC Davis Policy Institute for Energy, Environment and the Economy Assist in career training and placement to seed the next generation of policy leaders.

The Policy Institute seeks to improve energy and environmental policy development and implementation by engaging the expertise of our world-class research centers to develop and deliver timely and relevant information to decision makers. The central focus of the Policy Institute is to inform policy with relevant energy and environmental research including the areas of sustainable mobility, clean e

nergy, energy and water efficiency, climate, agriculture, and ecology including air and water quality. We will accomplish our mission through the following activities:

- Engage scientists, government, industry, and NGOs in a productive dialog to identify priority policy information needs, increase knowledge and understanding, and improve decision-making to address pressing energy and environmental issues;
- Based on policy needs, leverage the extensive repository of existing research and expertise at UC Davis and partner with other top research organizations to bring the most relevant and timely knowledge to bear on these issues;
- Identify key information gaps and promote research to address these needs;
- Provide decision-support and technical assistance to government, industry, and NGOs;
- Educate students and faculty in effective policy communication and the policy process.
