Before the first bell, there was a lot of learning happening! 📚 In the weeks leading up to the first day of school, DJUSD educators took part in professional learning focused on reducing barriers and creating stronger learning experiences for every student. From TK/Kinder instruction and K–8 math to AVID and Universal Design for Learning, educators across the District came together to learn, collaborate and prepare for the year ahead. 💙

Our first day of school included a special visit from State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond! Superintendent Thurmond visited North Davis Elementary to tour our new early education facilities before heading to Davis Senior High School, where Citrus Circuits students showcased their award-winning robotics program. We’re grateful he spent part of the first day with us celebrating the incredible learning and opportunities happening across DJUSD!

Deliveries were made to many of our schools and families are able to request supplies, a backpack or a helmet through the front office of each site. 🎒📚🖍️

🚲🛴 Riding to school independently is an exciting milestone! We encourage families to review the rules of the road and discuss safe riding practices for bikes, e-bikes and scooters. A few important reminders:

- Helmets are required for all riders. Need a helmet? Reach out to your school’s front office.
- Elementary & junior high: E-scooters are not permitted; only Class 1 e-bikes are allowed
- High school: E-scooter riders must be 15½+ and have a valid permit or driver’s license
- Make sure your student has a secure bike lock.

Stay safe and ride smart! đźš´
