🚨 MURRAY COUNTY BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🚨
The Murray County Board of County Commissioners has declared a burn ban due to extreme fire danger and/or high heat conditions.
🔥 The burn ban is effective immediately for up to seven (7) days from August 31, 2026, and applies throughout Murray County, including the City of Davis, Crossbar Ranch, and Turner Falls Park.
🚫 PROHIBITED DURING THE BURN BAN:
* Outdoor campfires and bonfires, including fire pits
* Burning grass, forests, range crops, brush, trash, or other materials that could cause a wildfire
* Fireworks or other activities that could ignite wildland vegetation
🍔 OUTDOOR COOKING
LPG/natural gas grills and charcoal/wood-fired grills or smokers are permitted when:
* Used on a non-flammable surface
* Located at least 5 feet from flammable vegetation
🔥 WELDING, CUTTING & GRINDING
These activities are permitted only when:
* Conducted over a non-combustible surface at least 10’ x 10’, with welding blankets/screens protecting flammable vegetation
* Wind speeds are less than 20 mph
* A fire watch is present with pressurized water or a fire extinguisher
⚠️ ENFORCEMENT: Any person who violates this burn ban may be charged with a misdemeanor and subject to a fine of up to $500, imprisonment for up to one year, or both.
Please use extreme caution. One spark can quickly become a wildfire.
The burn ban may be extended if dangerous conditions continue or removed earlier if conditions improve.
