🌱Nature Herbal Walk - Wednesday, June 17!! Registration closes Monday, June 15!!

One of the best parts of learning herbalism is finding all the wonderful herbal allies that grow in our region. Michigan is rich in herbs that are potential allies if you know how to identify and use them! We will meet at the pavilion and go on a one-mile wander through parkland, wooded trails and meadow. Along the way we will stop many times to point out and discuss medicinal plants growing in Michigan. A notebook or note taking app and camera will be helpful. Be mindful of the uneven terrain and that no plants can be picked and removed from the parkland. Wear weather appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes and bring bug spray. Event will be held rain or shine, unless we have severe weather and a rainout date will be chosen.

Kristel’s Cookie Creations will guide you through each step of the process in decorating 5 custom cookies (see themes below). This class is perfect for all skill levels; beginners and experienced are both welcomed. ⛳ Adult Golf Clinic - Mondays, June 8 - June 29!! Registration closes Monday, June 1!!

⛳ This fun four- week course is for anyone who wants to learn how to play golf, and for current players who want to improve their skills. You will learn the fundamentals of the golf swing to become more consistent with your overall ball striking. The key aspects of the game: power game, iron play, chipping and pitching, long and short putting, basic rules of the game, etiquette, and course management will be covered to help you shoot lower scores. We will also cover some strength and stretching techniques for golf to help get your body ready to swing more efficiently. This fun, educational, and low-pressure lesson will give you the confidence and knowledge to go out and play the great game of golf. Participants must bring their own golf clubs.

📸Photography Basics - Wednesdays, July 15 - August 5!! Registration closes Monday, July 13!!

Would you like to become a better photographer? Do you have a digital DSLR or Mirrorless camera, but need some help in mastering all those buttons and dials? If so, this class is for you! This class will cover the basics of lighting, exposure, and composition as well as how to use your camera as a tool to allow you to be creative and produce images that are more than just snapshots but tell a story. Use a Smartphone for your photography? All the concepts covered apply to using a Smartphone for your creative picture taking as well. Each week will include a “classroom” presentation and discussion, followed by a trip to a local park for hands on instruction. Students are required to bring a DSLR, Mirrorless camera, or Smartphone with manual to each class.

🦋Raising Monarch Butterflies - Thursday, July 23 - Registration closes Tuesday, July 21! 🦋

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service proposal to list the monarch as a Threatened Species allows for up to 250 to be handled for educational purposes. Our North American monarchs are facing population decline and they need our help to protect them, so come and learn how to raise your own! It takes only 4 weeks for a monarch to grow from an egg to a lovely butterfly. You’ll learn to identify eggs, caterpillars, and milkweed (it’s only food source). We’ll look for caterpillars or you’ll be able to take some home (if available) so please bring a 1 lb. clear deli container with lid (or something similar) to take yours and watch it transform into an amazing, graceful monarch. Participants should bring a water bottle, dress in weather appropriate clothing and wear closed toe shoes. Please apply insect repellent before class or away from pavilion. Parents/guardians must register along with the child.
