Congratulations to Mrs. Alicia Gray, 4th–6th Grade Math Teacher, for being selected as Dawson Elementary’s Teacher of the Month for August!

Mrs. Gray has worked diligently to implement our new math curriculum and incorporate effective instructional strategies that promote student success. Her hard work, dedication, and commitment to providing our students with the best learning opportunities make her very deserving of this recognition.

A special thank you to Colby Threet, Agent with Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, for supporting our district and community by sponsoring our Teacher of the Month program. Mr. Threet presented Mrs. Gray with a plaque and gift card in recognition of her outstanding work.

We are grateful for community partners who recognize and celebrate the hard work of our educators.

At the beginning of the school year, Mrs. Gray reached out to our parents, families, and community members for help providing additional resources for her classroom. One of the biggest goals was to have an individual stand for every student to use during instruction.

Thanks to the incredible kindness and generosity of our Dawson community, that goal was reached! The classroom now has enough stands for every student, along with many other supplies that will support learning, organization, and student engagement throughout the school year.

Mrs. Gray and her students created a special video to show their appreciation and share how these donations are being put to use.

These donations are more than just classroom supplies. They are resources that help create a comfortable, organized, and engaging environment where students are ready to learn.

Thank you to every parent, family member, friend, and community member who donated, shared the request, or helped make this possible. Your support makes a difference!

The Dawson Bulldog Band Booster Club is putting together a cookbook and is looking for your favorite recipes!

Families and community members are invited to submit one or two favorite recipes to be included in the cookbook. Recipes can be submitted in one of three ways:

1. Drop them off at the Dawson High School front office.
2. Send them with a student to give to Dr. May or any Band Booster Club member.
3. Email them to [email protected].

Help the Band Booster Club fill the cookbook with some of the best recipes from our Dawson community!

Our Junior High FCA leaders kicked off the year with their first “Table Talk” lunch meeting!

Led by Coach Draylon Simmons, these student leaders gathered together during lunch to connect, encourage one another, and help build a strong FCA community on our Junior High campus.

We are excited to see how these leaders continue to grow and make a positive impact throughout the school year.

We will be photographing every student, and these portraits will also be used in the yearbook.

No pre-ordering is required. A proof envelope will be sent home with each student within two weeks of Picture Day, and orders can be placed directly from the proof envelope.

Parents also have the option to order and pay online, making it easy to purchase portraits without sending cash or checks to school.

Dawson ISD is excited to introduce our Hospitality Room for the 2026 Varsity Football season!

Throughout the season, we will have special nights dedicated to recognizing the people who make such a difference in our schools and community. Each game will feature a special hospitality theme and invited guests who will be celebrated during the evening.

Please note that only people that sign up to attend the hospitality room each week will be allowed to participate. We will post a Google Form each week for attendees to fill out.

We are excited to use these special evenings to recognize and thank the people who support our students, schools, and community. More information about each hospitality night will be shared as the season approaches.

A sweet surprise for some of our Dawson Elementary staff on Friday!

Our car rider line staff who work in the cafeteria received a thoughtful note and thank-you card as a special reminder of how much they are appreciated.
