THE DEKALB COUNTY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT. DISPATCH IS HIRING.
Come work for the states most unorganized, non-unified, 911 systems, DEKALB COUNTY. Where you'll talk to 911 callers and then transfer them to who they really need to talk to.
Then dispatch the local volunteer fire fighters to come to your rescue.
BTW those volunteers, who do it for free, do not get any of those tax dollars that the Volunteer Fire Fighter Dispatch gets, nor do they receive any of the state benefits that the dispatch receives. Ask your local commissioner Lester Black about it. It's located in his district.

It has been reported that the Upper Sand Mountain Gas District is operating without a Master Technician.
The same Board oversees the Dekalb Jackson water supply District. The Water District is was featured in an article from Montgomery about the water potentially not being safe. Sources say the State has been notified of the Gas District operating without a Master Technician. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.

Serving this county with EXCELLENCE!!!!!
Non emergency, with no patience and still couldn't hold it between the ditches.
Wonder if they will release the drive can footage?
Our tax dollars pay the monthly bill on those drive cams
Looks like it should be public record.
All parties involved were said to be ok.
Didn't see any post about the accident on the DAS page.
Maybe a, Pray for our crew members involved in an accident earlier today or Please everyone be extra careful, this is what happened to us today.

PLEASE SHARE SO ALL THAT GET THEIR WATER FROM HERE ARE INFORMED

This article came out in the Montgomery Advertiser on Nov, 5. Not one mention from the Dekalb-Jackson water supply district to the people they supply water to.
Are you freaking kidding me?
If your water comes from these people beware.
Greg Harris and Billy Dalton why are these things kept from the people you supply water to?
If your hiding things like this, what else is being swept under the rug up there?

Mayor Brian Bain and Fort Payne City Council,
Please explain how the soccer fields you are building are more important than this?
For what you paid to have the old hospital torn down you could have bought an ambulance.
Better yet Dekalb Ambulance Service puts 2 a years on govdeals and auctions them off every year. They should donate the fire department one of those.

THE WHOLE STORY OF THE OLD COUNTY HOSPITAL
Long read so bare with me.
They started tearing down the old dekalb county hospital, the story has been on most of our local news outlets pages.
Dekalb County Whistleblower would like to tell you the whole story of the Dekalb County Hospital.
So it all starts in the 1940's when the dekalb county citizens voted to use part of the county's property taxes that are paid by every land owner every year in dekalb county.
The county commissioners at the time appointed a Board to over see this tax money for the hospital.
The board would be known as The Dekalb County Hospital Association.
The portion of tax money taken from the property taxes would be to build a 100 bed hospital in Fort Payne and a 20 bed hospital annex in Crossville. The Crossville hospital never was built. No one knows why or where the money went for said 20 bed hospital annex. This would not be the last time The Dekalb County Hospital Association would do some shady things.
In the 1980's due to poor management among other things the Dekalb County Hospital was so in debt and upside-down in their financial situation, no one would even look at purchasing the county run hospital. Despite receiving millions in property tax dollars.
However the Baptist Medical Group assume the debt of the country run hospital accentually taking over the country run hospital and making it private owned.
Now you might ask, what is to be done with the 1.5 million dollars a year that the citizens paid to The Dekalb County Hospital Association every year?
Well instead of asking the citizens and letting the citizens vote on what needed to be done with said tax money. The Dekalb County Hospital Association ask the opinion of the Alabama Attorney General if they could use the tax dollars that were set aside by the citizens for a hospital to open up and run an ambulance service instead of asking the citizens to vote on it. Another shady move by The Dekalb County Hospital Association.
So money meant to build and help fund two county run hospitals, one that was never built, is now used to fund a county ambulance service (DAS). So from the mid 1980's the dekalb county citizens has paid a portion of their property taxes to The Dekalb County Hospital Association. Not to fund a hospital, but an ambulance service. So for the last 35 years or so The Dekalb County Hospital Association has received approximately 1.5 million dollars in tax money and there was no hospital. Instead they open up a (DBA) doing business as, Dekalb Ambulance Service.
This means our county ambulance service receives 7 times the amount of tax money to run an ambulance service than any other ambulance service in the state of alabama. That why they have to build multi million dollar buildings for crews to sleep in while they wait to go on a call.
It's time for our local ambulance service to get off of government assistance and give the over funded tax dollars to the fire departments and rescue squads who struggle every year.
Now you know the real story of our county hospital and it's ambulance service. I dare you to find 2 people that could tell you the facts as I have told you. I bet you can't because they don't want you to know.

Channel 48 reports city of fort payne plans to spend 40 million dollars on a sports complex over the next couple of years. Meanwhile traffic on the south end of town is ridiculous. Half of that would go along way in fixing the dailey traffic nightmare that happens every weekday from 3 to 5:30. Makes you wonder where the city council priorities are??
