Dawson Library was built with funding from Andrew Carnegie. The original building is now a law office. The present library is located in a remodeled National Guard Armory. The National Guard Armory was remodeled to include apartments, public meeting rooms and the Library. Dawson is a proud member of the Pioneerland Library System.

The Dawson Public Library will be at the Riverfest Vendor Fair at 11 AM-5 PM. We are bringing David Kelsey Bassett from Screen Eagle Press to screen print this featured design, created by Madison librarian Lydia Rebehn onto canvas bags. You may also bring a cotton t-shirt or other cotton bag to have this design printed. This activity has been made possible by a Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment Grant as voted on by Minnesota voters.

If you don't have a CD player in your car or home, good news! We have a CD player that you can check out from the library to listen to any of the CDs we have. We have some great non-fiction, fiction, and biographies on CD.

Summer Reading has started! For "Plant a Seed and Read!" a Kindness Rock Garden has been started. All ages are welcome to decorate a rock and add a kindness message to the garden.

Sign up for Summer Reading at the desk and track your reading. Summer Reading is open to all ages. There will be prizes for each reading log turned in and grand prizes at the end of the summer.
