Dawson Mountain Education

Dawson Mountain Education MECHS is a SACS accredited, tuition-free, non-traditional, evening high school with a self-paced curriculum and a flexible attendance policy.

The mission of Mountain Education is to provide a second chance opportunity to students across North Georgia to earn an accredited high school diploma in a student-centered, self-paced, evening public high school. Students choose the courses they work on each night and work through the self-paced online curriculum with the guidance of a certified teacher in the classroom. Students are supported by

teachers, mentors, counselors, and graduation coaches who work diligently to keep the students on track towards graduation. The staff at MECHS genuinely want to see every single student succeed and will go above and beyond to make sure students walk away from MECHS with a Georgia High School Diploma. Having a high school diploma increases our graduates’ chances of getting a job, provides them the opportunity to attend college or technical school, raises their salaries and their self esteem, and it can be their ticket towards a better, brighter future.
