✨ Fun Fact✨

In small rural communities, service clubs often help fill the gaps, supporting youth programs, local events, community projects, and neighbors in need. Many of the traditions and gatherings we love wouldn’t happen without them.

When our community gathers, our service clubs are almost always there, quietly making it happen.

At the May 2nd Blue Mountain Butterfly StationRibbon Cutting, both Kiwanis and the Lions Club showed up on short notice to make sure everyone was fed, something they do time and time again, often simply on donation.

This is what service looks like.
This is what community looks like.

What would Dayton look like without them?

As we continue highlighting the clubs that give so much to our town, we invite you to take a moment to recognize their impact, and consider how we can all help support and sustain these efforts moving forward.

Have you experienced their generosity? Share below we’d love to hear your story.

Our local service clubs have long been the heart of Dayton, supporting events, youth programs, scholarships, and so much more.

But like many small communities, we’re starting to feel a shift.

What would Dayton look like without them?

Neighbors United for Progress is partnering with Harvest & Harmony to listen, learn, and better understand how our service clubs are feeling, what’s working, what’s challenging, and where support is needed.

Over the next several weeks, we’ll be highlighting different service clubs and the incredible role they play in our community. Our goal is simply to bring awareness, encourage involvement, and help strengthen what matters most.

We’re also inviting our clubs to come together for a conversation about the future at The Scotsman on October 3rd-More details to come.

In the meantime, we’d love to hear from you.
What role have service clubs played in your life, and what would you like to see moving forward?
