All Washington Township firefighters are being trained to use a cyanide antidote called Cyanokit.

Cyanide poisoning is often caused by breathing in smoke — and it's a real risk during structure fires. Many modern materials release cyanide gas when they burn, which can quickly become life-threatening for both fire victims and firefighters.

With Cyanokits on hand, our first responders can give life-saving treatment right away, whether to residents rescued from a fire or to firefighters who get trapped or exposed during a rescue.

We are Proud to Protect our community!

This week, the Washington Township Fire Department is partnering with the Centerville Ohio Police Department and Montgomery County Sheriff's Office to train for active threat response, interagency coordination, and unified operations during high-risk incidents.

These joint exercises are an important opportunity to reinforce procedures, improve communication, and ensure our responders can work seamlessly together during critical incidents.

⚾️🇺🇸Last night, the Washington Township Fire Department Honor Guard had the privilege of presenting the colors before the Dayton Dragons game.

Despite the summer heat, our Honor Guard represented the department and our community with professionalism and pride. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in such a great community event and appreciate everyone who came out to support the Dragons.

Great job to our Honor Guard members for a job well done!

You probably know how to restart your phone, reboot your computer, and troubleshoot your Wi-Fi… but do you know how to help restart a heart?

Learning CPR takes a little time and can make a huge difference when every second counts.
This week, consider taking a CPR class, refreshing your skills, or sharing this message. Someone’s worst day could depend on someone else stepping up.

The Washington Township Fire Department offers CPR classes for members of the public and can also provide private classes for businesses, community groups, and organizations looking to train their teams.

Because when cardiac arrest happens, the actions taken before first responders arrive can make all the difference.
Interested in scheduling a class or learning more? View our course offerings at https://wtfd.enrollware.com/schedule or reach out to us!
