Burn restrictions are in place across much of Minnesota, including Hennepin County!

“A Red Flag Warning means fires can spread quickly and grow out of control under the predicted weather conditions, including strong winds and low humidity.”

Red Flag Warning

Due to dry conditions, high winds, and low humidity, the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning starting Saturday (3/28) starting between 10 AM to noon and until 7 PM for the following counties:

Aitkin, Anoka, Becker, Benton, Big Stone, Blue Earth, Brown, Carlton, Carver, Cass, Chippewa, Chisago, Cottonwood, Crow Wing, Dakota, Dodge, Douglas, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Grant, Hennepin, Houston, Hubbard, Isanti, Itasca, Jackson, Kanabec, Kandiyohi, Lac Qui Parle, Le Sueur, Lincoln, Lyon, Martin, McLeod, Meeker, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Mower, Murray, Nicollet, Nobles, Olmsted, Otter Tail, Pine, Pipestone, Pope, Ramsey, Redwood, Renville, Rice, Rock, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, St. Louis, Stearns, Steele, Stevens, Swift, Todd, Traverse, Wabasha, Wadena, Waseca, Washington, Watonwan, Wilkin, Winona, Wright, Yellow Medicine

While the Red Flag Warning is in effect:
Burning restrictions are in place for many counties: mndnr.gov/burnrestrictions

Don’t burn brush and yard debris!

Check recent campfires and any burning done recently to ensure the fire is out COLD!
Be extra cautious with outdoor activities that could produce heat or a spark.

Remember, only you can prevent wildfires!

We will have:
- Pictures with Sparky 📸
- Helicopter landing 🚁
- Green mill food truck 🍕
- Firetrucks 🚒
- An ambulance 🚑

And more! We hope to see you there!!

Happy National Pet Fire Safety Day!

Did you know there are stickers you can place on your front door/window which tell us how many animals are in your home in the event of a fire?

We will do our best to rescue them and these identification tags help us know to look for them!

On Thursdays we train on different topics! Last Thursday we took the opportunity to train on water operations and even had the opportunity to interact with a few city residents down at the boat launch who stopped by!

We currently have two boats a part of our fleet. One lives at Station 1 and one lives at Station 2. They each have different capabilities, and we are grateful to be able to serve our community and help our neighbors in their times of need!
