We had numerous thefts of vehicles and thefts from vehicles over the weekend. The one thing they all had in common is that the vehicles were unlocked.

The vehicles that were stolen were both unlocked and had a key left in them.

Please be sure to lock your vehicles and remove any valuables from them.

PRESS RELEASE

On Friday, June 5, 2026, at 0843 hours, Butler Township Police and Butler Township Fire Department crews were dispatched to 3411 Spanish Villas Drive for a shooting. Upon arrival officers found a 26-year-old male resident with a gunshot wound to his shoulder area. The victim said he shot himself accidentally. The victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital and is currently in surgery.

This case is under active investigation, however all preliminary information suggests this was accidental. We will provide an updated release if the investigation reveals criminal activity.

Congratulations FF Ryan Boone as the 2025 Butler Township Firefighter of the year and Det. Brian Brown as the 2025 Butler Township Police Officer of the year. They were both honored this past Monday June 1, 2026 at the Annual Lions Club Award dinner. Assistant Fire Chief Adam Marchal & Police Chief John Porter presented both with their awards.

HIGH WATER ALERT! Several roads are currently closed due to excessive water levels. Affected areas include Little York Rd between Frederick Pk and Stoner Rd, Meeker Rd between Heathcliff Rd and Westfall Rd, and the intersection of Frederick Pike and Peter’s Road. Additional areas are also experiencing high water. Please exercise caution and avoid driving through flooded areas or around barricades. Emergency responders are actively engaged in multiple locations working to maintain community safety.
