Having been founded in 1999, City Day Community School is one of Dayton's oldest community schools. Over the years, City Day's academic programming has evolved and is now a K-8 public community school offering a curriculum that is aligned to the Common Core State Standards. We believe that the success of our students will be dependent upon the collaborative efforts of our students, parents, teachers and administrators, whom all have high expectations for their learning. As our mission states, we truly want to assure that each student fulfills his/her potential in a safe environment that encourages academic excellence, while teaching them to be mutually respectful of themselves and the community at large. Our mission will be accomplished by:
Promoting an integrity based school operation in a safe, family friendly atmosphere;
Encouraging our students to strive for educational excellence;
Helping our parents develop the character of their young boys and girls
Maintaining positive parent, school, and community relationships;
Our teachers are "the best at getting better", which is a term used in our school to convey that we are open to becoming a learning organization and that we are always open to a more effective way of accomplishing tasks and educating our students.

❤️💙 CITY DAY COMMUNITY SCHOOL STAFF HIGHLIGHT! ❤️💙

Today, we proudly celebrate Dr. Michele Gullette!

A Special Message from the Superintendent

Leadership is not just about the title you hold, but the lives you touch, the people you inspire, and the difference you make every single day!

Dr. Gullette, you are truly a blessing to City Day Community School! Your unwavering faith, passion for scholars, commitment to excellence, and willingness to serve others never go unnoticed. You wear many hats—educator, literacy specialist, preschool director, pastor, mother, friend, and outstanding leader and you wear them with grace, strength, and purpose.

As your Superintendent, I want you to know how much I personally appreciate your loyalty, dedication, wisdom, and the tremendous support you provide. You are more than an amazing coworker; you are a valued member of our City Day family, and I am grateful to have you on this journey with me.

Today, we give you your flowers while you can smell them! 💐

We salute you, honor you, and thank you for ALL that you do! Keep allowing God to use you to make a difference!

❤️💙

With Love and Appreciation,

Dr. Crystal Gilbert-Mosley
Superintendent
