Jeffrey Atkinson, the drunk driver who hit a 9-year-old girl and drug her over a 1/2 mile, was sentenced today to 7 years in prison. This case was truly horrifying and the girl's injuries were...extensive.

Don't drink and drive. It's not just your life that you're putting at risk.

A Centerville Schools employee, TYHEED JAMES MILLER, is indicted for taking a video of a partially clothed 12-year-old special needs student and sharing it on Snapchat.

This defendant, a 'behavior technician' at Watts Middle School, was supposed to help special needs students with things like going to the restroom, not victimize them.

Today, STEPHANAS GOLDEN and HEATHER PIPPEN were indicted for child endangering, strangulation, and other counts for the brutal and sadistic abuse of seven children in their Wroe Avenue residence. Some of the worst mental and physical abuse I have seen. Thankfully, all seven children (and the 14 dogs and 18 chickens found at the address) are safe.

How would they address violence? Over 600 submissions from dozens of local schools of posters and essays were received. The best of the best were recognized yesterday. Pictures are just some of the winners.

Today, 16-year-old Colby L. Curry was indicted for r**e, kidnapping, felonious assault, and strangulation. This juvenile brutally attacked, strangled, and r**ed a 36-year-old woman in the lot of a day care on Burkhardt Road. Due to the extremely violent nature of the attack and the defendant's age, he is being tried as an adult. The juvenile justice system just isn't equiped to adequately hold this defendant accountable.
