On April 1, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers with the Dayton Police Department were dispatched to an aggravated robbery at the Chevron Convenience Store located at 304 West Linney Street in Dayton, Texas. Upon arrival, officers learned that an unknown suspect had entered the store, held the clerk at gunpoint, and demanded money and other items before fleeing the scene.

Patrol officers secured the scene, and the Dayton Police Department Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded to conduct interviews and process the scene.

During the investigation, CID obtained information identifying the suspect as Victor Bernard Henry, Jr. The Dayton Police Department subsequently coordinated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force to assist with additional investigative efforts and potential federal prosecution.

On April 28, 2026, members of the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force, including the United States Marshals Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, along with assistance from the Dayton Police Department and the Liberty County Precinct 2 Constableโ€™s Office, executed an arrest warrant on Henry in the 500 block of South Colbert Street in Dayton, Texas.

Henry was taken into custody without incident. During the arrest, investigators located additional evidence at the residence related to the robbery and other offenses.

Henry, a convicted felon with a prior conviction for Attempted Murder, is currently being held in the Liberty County Jail on a no-bond.

This case remains under active investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Dayton Police Department CID. The Dayton Police Department would like to thank the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force, and assisting agencies for their continued partnership and commitment to keeping the Dayton community safe.
