The Dayton Police Department is getting ready for National Night Out, and we're looking for local businesses, organizations, churches, community groups, and others who would like to set up a table and be part of the evening!

This is a great opportunity to meet members of our community, share information about your organization or business, and help make National Night Out a fun, welcoming event for everyone.

TxDOT Traffic Alert:
The right lane of US 90 eastbound, from Rolke Road to SH 146, will be closed nightly beginning Friday, August 21, through Friday, September 4. The left lane will be closed intermittently for approximately 15 minutes while bridge beams are being lifted. Contractors will work from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly. Motorists should expect delays and plan for additional travel time.

McKenzie is on a "Kindness" journey, visiting police stations all over Texas to give each officer a thank-you card.

By 2026, she aims to visit as many of the 699 departments as she can. We had the privilege of meeting with Ms. McKenzie to complete that journey.
