The totals are in! This year's Stamp Out Hunger campaign, held in partnership with the National Association of Letter Carriers (local Branch 182) and the United States Postal Service raised ⭐ 29,444 pounds ⭐ of non-perishable food donations!

With the help of volunteers, this food has been inspected, sorted, and distributed to our network of 122 partners across Montgomery, Greene, and Preble Counties. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, our partners, our volunteers, and the hard-working mail carriers who make this campaign a success every year!

Thanks to you, many families in the Miami Valley will not have to face an empty cupboard.

Still hungry to help? Every $1 provides 4 meals when you donate online at thefoodbankdayton.org/give-money, or you can host a food drive of your own: thefoodbankdayton.org/give-food.

What an amazing way to say goodbye to 8th grade! 🎉 The student council at Watts Middle School turned their Farewell Dance into a food drive and fundraiser, raising $525 and collecting 102 pounds of food for our neighbors in need.

A huge thank you to every student who made this happen. You proved that even a dance can change lives!

A huge thank you to our incredible partner agency, Dayton Dream Center, for welcoming our team to volunteer again this year to help prep food for their DC Diner program.

The DC Diner stands as a beacon of hope in the heart of downtown Dayton. Three times each week, they serve hot, nutritious meals with dignity and love to anyone who walks through their doors.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside you and support the incredible work you do to bring people together. ♥️

Eating the rainbow is a simple way to add more variety, flavor, and color to your meals. Fruits and vegetables come in every shade of the rainbow, and each color group offers its own unique benefits. Challenge yourself to add a little more color to your plate this week and see how many colors you can fit into your meals. 🌈

Congratulations to Solvita for being recognized as a 2026 Volunteer Champion!

New partnerships have the power to create lasting impact, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to grow alongside dedicated community partners.

In 2025, Solvita partnered with us for their annual staff fundraiser. Through their Solving Hunger campaign, employees embraced multiple ways to support our mission, from making donations to volunteering their time through several shifts onsite in our warehouse and urban garden.

We’re thankful for their commitment to our community and honored to be selected once again as the beneficiary of their annual fundraiser this year. Together, we’re making a meaningful difference in the fight against hunger. ♥️

Thank you Dayton Daily News and Brandon Berry for covering our compost operations!

Although composting is not the most glamorous work, it serves as medicine for the earth, both for the soil itself and for those who live upon it. The eighteen essential nutrients that our bodies need come from the ground. Composting not only diverts organic waste from landfills that pollute the earth, but it also feeds the soil that feeds you.

To learn more about how and why composting is integrated into our daily work and explore new technologies of composting (including how we use the f***l matter of 80,000 worms to produce compost 50 times more valuable than your average compost pile), check out the rest of the article!
