New to me ~ Apparently, up from Buffalo, WY (in the Big Horn Mountains, Wyoming) is the Muddy Guard Cabin (Muddy Guard Station) that the US Forest Service rents out. I have stayed in the cabins at Bear Lodge Resort, which I love. However, let it be said that Muddy Guard looks even more spectacular ~ at a price that can't be beat. A gentleman named Sean put together the video below which shows off the cabin quite nicely. He suggested that the video be shared here. Thank you Sean. :)

In the comments below I have put a link to the Forest Service web page for the cabin. I would love to see more photos of that part of the Big Horn Mountains. It is spectacular there ~ big sky country. From the Forest Service map, it looks like there are other cabins up there too.

I am having an awkward time posting a Milestone on this page. FB is fussing back at me about duplicate images. I will go use a practice page to figure this out. My apologies to those who saw multiple posts that subsequently disappeared. :/

I regularly see posts regarding the Big Horn Mountains flowing through my Facebook news feed, with lots of photographs shared. Most of the posts are mentions and check-ins. Ever so often folks post their comments and photos directly to the page.

I am sure others think the same as I. Either way, it is nice to have news and images from the Wyoming mountains throughout the year. :)

Last summer, someone sent me a question about horseback riding in the Big Horn Mountains area. I love horseback riding. I have not ridden out in Wyoming and I do not know have a list of the options. I encourage folks to do an online search for this type of information. In the meantime, I did a quick search and found an option that has been around for over 100 years. :) So, I am tucking them in here. I am glad to add others as well.

We are delighted that we are celebrating over 113 years of welcoming families and friends from all over the world to the HF Bar Ranch! The HF Bar Ranch has a special use permit with the Big
Horn National Forest and is an equal opportunity employer.

A second photo put up recently by Jeff Browning. Last time I was up to Burgess Junction early Autumn, my friend and I raced in front of one of these storms to get down to Dayton, WY safely. It was touch and go.
