Worried that getting screened will be awkward or everyone will make it a big deal? Most screenings are quick, simple, and routine – nothing to stress about.

Taking care of your health doesn’t have to be embarrassing. It’s a normal, casual step that gives you peace of mind and helps catch concerns early.

Stigma is often the silent wall standing between someone and the help they deserve. In our latest video, Dawn Meicher explains how judgment can push those facing addiction to suffer in silence rather than reaching out.

We can’t support recovery or prevent overdose until we change how we treat those who are struggling. Compassion is a vital part of prevention, and by leading with empathy, we make it safer for our neighbors to take that first step toward healing.

Finding a bat inside can be startling, but staying calm is the best way to keep your household safe. If you need to move it, never use your bare hands – always use gloves and a container to safely trap the bat.

While rabies is a serious and deadly virus, it is also preventable if you act quickly. If you aren't comfortable handling the situation yourself, reaching out for local help is the best way to ensure the safety of both your family and the animal.

If you have been bitten or scratched by an animal, acting fast is the most important thing you can do. While rabies is a deadly virus, it is also 100% preventable if handled the right way.

Start by washing any bite or scratch immediately with plenty of soap and water. To keep yourself and your family safe, ensure your pets stay up to date on their rabies vaccinations and always avoid contact with wild animals. This is especially true for bats – never touch a bat, even if it seems hurt or sluggish. If you encounter one, call the authorities instead. Protecting our community starts with these simple, proactive steps.

When it comes to opioid emergencies, Naloxone is a safe and simple tool that anyone can use to save a life. It works by temporarily reversing an overdose, giving a person the precious time they need for help to arrive.

One of the most important things to know is that Naloxone is medically safe – even if someone isn't experiencing an overdose, it won't harm them. It’s also not just for addiction; it can be used for accidental prescription misuse, fentanyl exposure, or even for children and pets who have ingested something they shouldn't have.

Don't let the fear of legal trouble stop you from helping. Thanks to Good Samaritan laws, you can call for help and administer Naloxone with legal protection. Being prepared means being a lifeline for your neighbors.
