Today we celebrated an incredible leader, advocate, and friend — Linda Kemp-Baird.

Linda, alongside her husband Bob, played a foundational role in bringing the vision of ReNew Recovery Café to life — creating a place of hope, belonging, recovery, and connection for so many in our community. The impact of their work continues to change lives every single day.

We encourage everyone to take a few moments to read the story of how Linda and Bob helped get ReNew Recovery Café started and the journey that led to where we are today:

Today at ReNew Recovery Café, we were able to share some generously donated food with our Members and guests — helping provide nourishment, connection, and care to our community.

Every donation makes a difference. Each week, ReNew Recovery Café provides more than 400 meals to our friends in the community, and support from local businesses, organizations, and community members helps make that possible.

If you or someone you know has bulk food items available for donation — including baked goods, produce, snacks, coffee, or other meal items — we would love to connect with you. To learn more or coordinate a donation, please reach out to us at [email protected]

At ReNew Recovery Café, giving back is part of recovery.

Our Café is truly a Members’ Café — a community where everyone has a role in creating a welcoming, healing space for one another. Today, we are proud to recognize Members who give back each day through acts of service, kindness, and connection.

From serving meals and helping keep the Café clean and organized, to assembling hygiene and harm reduction kits for our friends connected to Street Outreach, these contributions help make our community stronger.

Recovery happens through belonging, purpose, and supporting one another — and our Members demonstrate that every single day. Thank you for all you do to make ReNew Recovery Café a place of hope, dignity, and compassion.

Today we say “see you later” to one of the very first faces of ReNew Recovery Café—Joe.

From day one, Joe welcomed everyone with a smile and made people feel seen—remembering names, faces, and stories in a way that made our community feel like home.

Behind that warm presence was also a quiet strength, helping keep the Café a safe and supportive space for all.

Thank you, Joe, for everything you’ve given to this community. You will be truly missed and always part of the ReNew family.

We’re grateful to stand alongside incredible community partners—and people like Jason who make a real difference every single day through his work with Halifax Urban Ministries.

Meet Jason!

Jason has been a dedicated part of our team since November 2014. He first joined us as a driver, working closely with local schools and community partners like Second Harvest to help serve those in need.

After a brief hiatus, Jason returned and now leads our Bridge of Hope Mobile Food Pantry, where he plays a vital role in feeding more than 300 people across Volusia County each day.

His commitment, compassion, and hard work make a lasting impact in our community. We are so grateful to have Jason on our team!
