The Daytona 200 Monument mourns the passing of Richard Chambers. Richard was a “forever” supporter of the Daytona 200 Monument, and his presence will be missed. For as many years as we can remember Richard along with Pat Gonsalves have been the voices of the annual Daytona 200 Monument “Gathering of Champions” event (Richard’s naming). Each year they honored event attendees and conducted interviews recognizing the new plaque and brick sponsors.
Richard and Pat’s support continued each year on Thursday morning at the “Over the Hill Gang Breakfast” where they interviewed our racing heroes and auctioned off items to support the monument.
Rest in Peace Richard, you touched us all
Our condolences go out to Richard’s family and friends
