Longstreet Elementary is a small school located on the beachside in
Daytona Beach. It is nestled in a beautiful suburban setting between the Halifax River and the Atlantic Ocean. The school encompasses a large geographic area serving students from Seabreeze Blvd. Longstreet opened in 1954 and serves approximately 400 students. Longstreet is a Title I School with 74% of the students qualifying for

free or reduced lunch. It has a minority population of 21%, English Speakers of Other languages (ESOL) population of 5%, and a mobility rate of 54% with a large homeless population. A major renovation was completed in the fall of 2008 which included a new art/music wing, consistent outer facings on all wings, new windows, doors, cabinetry, and flooring. Each classroom has modern technology in the form of data projectors and audio enhancement. Our students also have 1:1 technology access at Longstreet. This small school prides itself on being a community school. Part of the secret to the success of this wonderful school is the active parent and community involvement. This involvement includes a very active PTA which sponsors many events throughout the school year. Volusia Online Learning Summer VFlex program gives students the opportunity to earn original credits in an accelerated online format.

📅 Now– July 30

✅ Finish courses in half the time
✅ Earn credits that count toward graduation
✅ Learn on a flexible schedule from anywhere
✅ Take courses in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Driver Education, Personal Finance, and more

Students complete one semester at a time and may request an additional semester course segment to continue in the fall.

Happy first day of summer break, Cardinals-we miss you already!

On the last day of school our 1st graders traveled to Hawaii today as part of our virtual adventure! Students learned all about the beautiful islands while enjoying a fun-filled day of activities. They went on a virtual field trip, made erupting volcanoes, learned how to hula dance, played “Pin the Sunglasses on the Pineapple,” and cooled off with delicious Dole Whip! 🍍🌴

Meanwhile, our 4th graders celebrated the last day of school and the beginning of summer break!

We are so proud of all our Cardinals and the memories made this year. ❤️

The last days of school were filled with so many fun activities and unforgettable memories — from Field Day, glow parties, and classroom celebrations to awards ceremonies, the Senior Clap Out, 5th Grade Clap Out, and our daily staff countdowns. These moments are what make our school family so special.
