VCARD hosted its first Membership Engagement Session at Luigi’s in Port Orange, and we had an incredible turnout with more than 60 attendees!

This event was more than just a social, it was an opportunity for newer members, new employees of longtime member companies, and anyone looking to become more involved to learn more about VCARD, our mission, and the many ways to get engaged.

We were also excited to welcome THREE new VCARD members who joined that evening! 🎉

Thank you to all of our longtime and returning VCARD members who came out to support the event as well. It was great seeing a mix of familiar faces and those getting to know VCARD for the first time. The Executive Board did an amazing job of highlighting VCARD's attributes as well.

Thank you to Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to speak about Volusia County Association for Responsible Development (VCARD)! Kristopher Rowley, P.E. (VCARD Chair) and Jessica Gow (VCARD Immediate Past-Chair) lead the class and did an amazing job. We were so honored to be part of the Growth & Development Class alongside legendary community leader J. Hyatt Brown.

VCARD has presented to Chambers of Commerce, Rotary Clubs, City Councils, and other community organizations throughout the region. Thank you to Arvin Weese, Airport Director for the City of New Smyrna Beach. Arvin gave us a tour of the entire property and highlighted the many potential opportunities for future development and economic growth. Did you know that, according to a 2022 economic impact study, the New Smyrna Beach Airport alone generated $241 million in economic impact? Imagine what it is today?

They are even building a brand-new facility that could be used to host events. We can’t wait to celebrate with them and see all that this new facility has to offer!

The FCARD Chapter had the opportunity to tour the East Flagler Mosquito Control District with Director Mark Positano! 🦟

Did you know there are 48 different species of mosquitoes in Flagler County?

So, what can you do as a resident to protect your home, yourself, and others from mosquitoes and mosquito-borne illnesses? Mark reminded us to “Drain and Cover!” Eliminating standing water and covering up are simple steps that can make a big difference.
