De Leon Fire Department's crews and apparatus have been released from the Ross Fire in Palo Pinto and Jack counties and are on their way home! As you can see in the photos, they faced a lot of different KINDS of dangers!

Thanks to our guys who made the sacrifice to help our neighbors out. We never know, it could be us next time who needs help.

De Leon VFD crews have been deployed on the Ross fire in Palo Pinto county since yesterday at 5pm. We are in route there this morning with replacement crews to relieve those firefighters.

The incident is now reported by the Texas Forest Service at 50,000 acres with only a 5% containment.

De Leon Fire is sending two trucks and four firefighters to help with the 200 acre (currently) Ross fire in Palo Pinto county. Prayers for our guys and all the fireman.

Update: 10:16 PM the fire is 10,000 acres and 5% contained.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our water drive. We would also like to acknowledge our "Scouts of DeLeon" who showed up and delivered water donations as well. Our hometown Spring Market also helped us collect water when it was purchased at the store and helped us get it loaded in order to have it delivered to the station. De Leon VFD is definitely blessed with a community who shows up for us each and every time. Remember we are still accepting water, Gatorade, snacks, or monetary donations. Items can be taken to the station or by contacting a member. As our De Leon Volunteer Fire Department motto states, "We'll be there".

This Friday July 24 beginning around 8:30, The fire department will be set up in the high school parking lot across from Spring market collecting water for our water drive. If you're unable to attend,donations can always be taken to the station or you can contact a member of the department. There is also a QR code for our Venmo if you wish to make a monetary donation for the purchase of more water. Be sure and stay cool and hydrated if you have to be out in these temperatures. As always, we appreciate each and everyone of you.

With the temperatures being as high as they have been, we have depleted our drinking water and Gatorade supply.  We will be hosting a water drive in the next few weeks so please stay tuned to Facebook for more details. As for now, you may contact any fireman if you wish to donate water or Gatorade.
